Red Skelton
has touched many people. I was very young when I saw his TV show and have forgotten most of it, but the memories of the Gertrude and Heathcliff bits stay with me. I tried not to miss his movies on TV. My favorite is 'The Fox' series. He makes me laugh. It is a shame that he retired from the "mass media" in the 70s. He was still active but in concerts and art shows. You had to be in the right place at the right time. Some of the public thought he was dead. It was my luck to see him twice in the Muncie, IN area. Something happen that made him not appear on TV and movies like great comics like Bob Hope, Milton Berle, Jackie Gleason and others that appeared now and then as a guest or in reruns. Red had one of the longest running TV show and yet it is nearly forgotten because the younger generation can't see it. I hope this page brings back memories and creates new ones. |
